Changing your Twitter password is a need
As technology arises day by day, people can think of a lot of problem and bad things. Hacking has been a primary problem ever since social media has started its way to bloom. Hackers uses bugs to either open your account to the point that they will own it. Or maybe they will create computer threats, they will steal, even change or destroy your information. They usually install dangerous malware without letting you know. Computer predators destroy other people for their benefit. They are monetized on every destructive way. Hacking is still a problem today, maybe if not for a regular person but for businesses or government top secrets, that information is typically in danger.
Twitter is not an exception in hacking. Twitter is an online news and social media networking service which uses posts known as “tweets”. Users that are registered can post but the unregistered ones can only read. In the quarter of 2007, the number of tweets is only about 400,000 but on the following year, it has risen up to a million to billions of tweets a day. It is one of the biggest social media networking today and it is never an exception in hacking. Users is social media is never safe especially people who are not careful with their accounts and people who has a big image in the society.
That is why Twitter made a decision because of the rising number of hacked accounts to let the people know and be aware of it, they announced to let the people change their password. Twitter found a bug which stored all the password unmasked in an internal log. This means that there is third party that has accessed to those passwords. But they also announced that they already fixed it but still wants to give out awareness to their followers. You need to change your password in twitter or in any social media account that has the same password as in Twitter.
How to change password in Twitter?
1. From the Twitter app, tap on your profile photo near the top left.
2. Tap Settings and privacy.
3. On this menu, tap Account.
4. Tap the Password tab under Log in and security.
5. Enter your current password followed by a new password and then type in the new one again to confirm it.
After entering your info, you’ll see a small pop-up at the bottom of your screen that lets you know your password has successfully been changed. Make sure you create a password that’s strong with a mix of lowercase or uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. It’s a great way to add an extra layer of protection, and setting it up with Twitter is as simple as making a pie.
1. Tap your profile icon near the top left.
2. Tap Settings and privacy.
3. Tap Account -> Security -> Login verification -> Start.
4. Enter your password to verify your account and then tap the send code button to send a confirmation code to your phone.
After entering your code, two-factor authentication will be enabled on your account.
